Govt hikes petrol price by Rs1.12, diesel by Rs1.11 per litre

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has announced a fresh increase in the prices of petroleum products, with petrol becoming Rs1.12 more expensive per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) rising by Rs1.11 per litre on Tuesday.

A notification released by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has updated the ex-depot rates in accordance with the government’s petroleum pricing formula.

After the latest adjustment, consumers will have to pay Rs343.10 for a litre of petrol, while the price of HSD has been fixed at Rs371.80 per litre.

According to the notification, these revised rates will remain applicable until Thursday.

The government regularly reviews fuel prices in response to changes in global oil prices as well as other costs involved in the petroleum supply chain.
