Four FC personnel martyred, 3 injured in Quetta roadside blast

Quetta (Web Desk): At least four personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) lost their lives, and three others were injured in a deadly explosion near a bomb disposal squad in the Margate area of Quetta on Friday. 
According to police, the blast occurred when the security forces were engaged in the process of neutralizing an improvised explosive device (IED) planted in the area.

The personnel martyred in the blast included Subedar Shahzad Amin, Naib Subedar Abbas, Sepoy Khalil, and Sepoy Zahid.

Meanwhile, three soldiers, including Lance Naik Zafar, Lance Naik Farooq, and Sepoy Khurram Saleem, were injured in the blast.

They were immediately transported to a nearby medical facility where their conditions are being closely monitored.

Following the explosion, security forces rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down those responsible for the attack while the authorities pledged to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday strongly condemned the blast in Quetta that resulted in the martyrdom of four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.

In a statement issued by the President House Press Wing, the president paid tribute to the FC personnel for sacrificing their lives for the defence of the country.

Expressing the national resolve to uproot terrorism from the country, President Zardari said that operations against the terrorists will continue until the menace is completely eliminated.

“The entire nation acknowledges and salutes the sacrifices of our martyrs,” he said.

President Zardari prayed to Allah Almighty to elevate the ranks of the martyrs in Jannah and to grant courage to the bereaved family members to bear the loss with equanimity.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the tragic landmine blast in Quetta that claimed the lives of four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the minister expressed deep sorrow over the incident and offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers.

Naqvi praised the courage and dedication of the FC personnel, stating that they had embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while safeguarding the nation.

“These brave sons of the soil have made the ultimate sacrifice for peace in Balochistan. Their heroism and commitment will always be remembered with pride and gratitude,” he said.

The interior minister also prayed for the swift and complete recovery of the injured, reaffirming the government’s unwavering support for the security forces.

Calling the blast a cowardly act, the Interior Minister said it was part of a broader attempt by anti-state elements to destabilize the country. “Such conspiracies will not succeed. The nation stands united against all forms of terrorism,” he emphasized.
