Islamabad (Web Desk): Users of the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) are facing service disruptions and slow connectivity across Pakistan. The ongoing issues have sparked a wave of complaints from users on various social media platforms and online forums.
According to outage tracking website DownDetector, over 372 complaints were reported by 5:36 PM on Saturday, with the total number of complaints exceeding 600 throughout the day.
In an official statement, the platform acknowledged the technical difficulties, stating that its engineering teams are actively working to resolve the issues. These problems have persisted into the second consecutive day.
Engineers from X, led by Elon Musk, explained that they are still facing the aftermath of a data center outage that occurred the previous day. As a result, users may encounter issues with logging in, signing up, receiving notifications, and accessing premium features.
American tech publication Wired reported that a fire broke out at a leased data center in Hillsboro, Oregon, which may be the root cause of the ongoing disruptions. However, X has not officially confirmed or responded to this claim.
Sources suggest that it took emergency teams significant time to bring the fire under control, but it remains unclear whether server operations were directly affected.
