Dera Ghazi Khan (Web Desk): A suspected militant was killed as police successfully fended off a terrorist attack on a check post in the town of Jhangi, located on the border between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), in Dera Ghazi Khan’s Taunsa district.
According to the Dera Ghazi Khan District Police Officer (DPO), Syed Ali Kazmi, the attack occurred on Sunday night when militants fired rockets at the police check post.
In response, the police utilized thermal cameras to retaliate effectively, leading to the neutralization of the threat.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the courage and professionalism of the Punjab Police officers who stood firm in the face of the attack.
He expressed admiration for their unwavering resolve, noting how they held the line against the assailants, preventing further harm.
Naqvi commended the officers for acting as an "iron wall" against the attackers, ensuring the safety of the area.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, also lauded the efforts of his officers, emphasizing that the force had been equipped with modern weapons and additional manpower to enhance the security of the check post in Jhangi.
The extra resources, he explained, were part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the region’s defenses against such militant threats.
