Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Malik Ahmed Khan has been elected as a new speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
Malik Ahmed Khan secured 224 votes, while his opponent Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) Ahmed Khan Bhachar secured 96 votes.
Outgoing Speaker Punjab Assembly Muhammad Sibtain Khan chaired the election process and administered the oath to the newly-elected speaker.
