Karachi (Web Desk): Global credit rating agency Moody’s has improved Pakistan’s sovereign credit rating, moving it up from Caa1 to B3 while keeping the country’s outlook at stable.
Finance Minister’s Adviser Khurram Schehzad announced the development in a post on X, saying the latest upgrade reflects stronger international confidence in Pakistan’s economic performance and its capacity to meet its debt obligations.
He described the move to a B3 rating as an important milestone in Pakistan’s efforts to restore economic growth and reinforce financial stability.
According to Schehzad, Moody’s decision also signals recognition of the progress made in Pakistan’s overall economic and financial position.
He further noted that a stronger sovereign rating could encourage greater confidence among international investors and potentially make it easier for Pakistan to secure access to international financial markets.
Schehzad termed Moody’s latest assessment a major positive development, saying it represents another step forward in Pakistan’s continuing pursuit of economic stability.
