At UNGA, Trump urges world to join hands for safer, more prosperous future

New York (Web Desk): United States (US) President Donald Trump has said that he is pushing for a swift end to the fighting in Gaza, describing the situation as one that requires urgent action.

Addressing world leaders at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), he said that the conflict must be stopped at once and pressed the need for negotiations that would also secure the release of the 20 hostages being held.

The US president maintained that any real effort for peace should revolve around their freedom, insisting that calls for a truce are meaningless without it.

Trump accused Hamas of turning away from what he described as fair opportunities for peace and blamed the group for prolonging the crisis.

He also took aim at countries that have chosen to recognize a Palestinian state, arguing that such decisions serve as incentives for Hamas and only deepen the conflict rather than resolving it.

Mounted a strong defense of his administration’s record while directing fierce criticism at the world body the US president accused the UN of failing in its fundamental duty to prevent wars, lamenting that despite its existence, conflicts around the globe have continued unabated.

Trump remarked that several countries did not even respond to the UN’s calls during times of crisis and questioned the relevance of the organization if it could not stop wars.

He dismissed many of its pronouncements as empty rhetoric, stressing that conflicts are never resolved by words alone.
During his speech, Donald Trump also claimed that voices around the world were calling for him to be awarded the Nobel Prize.

Turning to domestic issues, he declared that in the past four months illegal immigration into the United States had been reduced to almost zero under his leadership, while during the Biden administration millions of what he called criminals and drug dealers entered the country unchecked.

Trump went on to highlight what he described as major foreign policy accomplishments, insisting that just a year earlier the United States was seen as a laughingstock on the world stage but had since regained respect and influence.

He said that America’s relations with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates had significantly improved and credited his administration with bringing an end to seven wars.

The US president further claimed that with the cooperation of Pakistan, India, and Iran, Washington had helped stop Israel’s ongoing war.
