Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has responded to statements issued by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) spokespersons, saying the party’s resentment and hostility towards Punjab stems from the fact that public funds are being spent on the welfare and development of the province’s people.
In a statement, Uzma Bukhari said those who are unhappy with Punjab’s development and prosperity would continue to criticize, but the journey of public service and progress would not stop.
She said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has, within two years, ensured that provincial resources reach people across the province, from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan and from Rawalpindi to Vehari.
The provincial minister said political figures from Larkana were unable to accept Punjab’s progress, adding that if PPP has become the fourth-largest political party in Punjab, the provincial government cannot be blamed for it.
Uzma Bukhari further stated that ongoing development projects in Punjab are aimed at providing better facilities to citizens and improving their living standards.
She added that the Punjab government would continue working towards public welfare, development and prosperity of the province.
