Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday directed to ensure immediate implementation of single national curriculum (SNC) with the cooperation of provincial governments.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad regarding enforcement of uniform syllabus, the premier expressed satisfaction over the Education Ministry's so far performance for enforcement of the national curriculum, the Radio Pakistan reported.
PM Imran said that the implementation of the syllabus should constantly be reviewed and changes be brought according to the requirements.
The prime minister directed that syllabus for grade six to twelve should be finalized by the end of this year.
Imran Khan said that Islamic history and the life and teachings of holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Sallam Khatim-un Nabiyeen should be taught to the children.
He said Seerat un Nabi Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Sallam is a beacon of light for our young generation.
“Seerat-un-Nabi Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Sallam provides the best panacea to all social issues,” the PM said, adding that the most important aspects of the life of holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Sallam Khatim un Nabiyeen are ethics and good manners.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood briefed the meeting about the various aspects of Seerat-un-Nabi made part of syllabus.
It was informed that a detailed consultation was held with the religious scholars of all schools of thought in this regard.
The meeting was informed that emphasis has also been laid on the standard of examination and the teachers' training.
On August 16, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the first phase of the SNC for students of grade 1 to 5 with the affirmation to make the country a unified nation.
