CDF Asim Munir, French defence chief discuss security cooperation

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Secretary General for Defence and National Security of France Nicolas Roche called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Rawalpindi, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the French defence chief was accompanied by France Ambassador to Pakistan Jean-Noël Poirier.

During the meeting matters of mutual interest, including regional security, bilateral cooperation in defence and security domains were discussed.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening of bilateral ties and further enhancing defence and security cooperation.

Nicolas Roche acknowledged Pakistan's efforts to promote regional peace, stability and reciprocated France's interest in expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
