Pakistan sends 23rd relief flight with 100 tons of aid to Gaza

Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan on Monday sent off its 23rd batch of humanitarian relief for the people of Gaza, consisting of 100 tons of food items, arranged through the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The consignment was flown from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on a special aircraft. With this dispatch, the volume of aid sent by Pakistan to Gaza has now reached 2,227 tons.

Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, who attended the departure ceremony as the chief guest, was joined by senior government figures and officials of the NDMA.

Addressing the gathering, the governor highlighted that the NDMA has successfully delivered 23 consignments so far, which altogether carried clothing, medicines, dry rations and food supplies. He appreciated the authority for its effective and prompt relief work for Gaza.

The governor voiced strong solidarity with Palestinians, calling them brothers who are enduring brutal oppression.

He condemned Israel’s military campaign, warning that it endangers global peace while innocent civilians, including children, are being killed daily.

The Punjab governor urged the United Nations (UN) to take firm action against what he described as Israeli terrorism and called on Islamic countries to close ranks in support of Palestine.

“Israel is blatantly violating international humanitarian laws by targeting civilian areas in Gaza and Palestine,” he added.

The governor reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent backing for the Palestinian cause, assuring that the nation will continue to stand with the people of Gaza in their ordeal.
