Azma dismisses speculation over Punjab CM’s role in prison visit approvals

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has clarified that the arrangement of prison visits for inmates has no connection with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, adding that she does not interfere in the work of government officials.

Azma Bukhari explained that if any prisoner does not wish to meet someone, prison authorities cannot force them into such meetings. She further mentioned that PTI founder's lawyers have had 420 meetings, while his family has had 189 meetings.

The Information Minister also criticized former Law Minister Sohail Afridi, saying, "Before teaching others the law, he should learn the law himself." Despite these explanations, she pointed out that political rallies continue to be held outside prisons every week.
