CDA announces shift to digital payments for salaries and pensions

Islamabad (Web Desk): In a major move to streamline financial processes and enhance transparency, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that all payments—including salaries, pensions, and other financial disbursements—will now be made exclusively through online banking channels.

According to the official notification, the Treasury Division and MCI Directorate will no longer issue payments via cheques. All concerned officials and employees have been instructed to submit their mobile numbers to ensure smooth integration into the digital payment system.

The notification further states that incomplete Demand Payment (DP) sheets will not be accepted by the Treasury Division, and the issuance of manual cheques has been permanently discontinued.

CDA has warned that any violation of the new directives will lead to strict departmental action against the responsible personnel.

This decision marks a significant step towards modernizing the government’s financial operations, improving efficiency, and eliminating potential avenues for mismanagement or corruption.
