Trump signals second round of US-Iran talks by Friday

New York / Islamabad  (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has said that second round of talks with Iran could take place as early as Friday, adding there is potential for progress within 36 to 72 hours.

In an interview with the New York Post, Trump confirmed that renewed talks with Iran could begin as early as Friday, calling it a “positive development” for regional stability.

He stated that the negotiation process could resume within the next 36 to 72 hours. According to him, the ceasefire has been extended until Iran submits its proposals, allowing more time for a diplomatic solution.

Trump also reiterated that Pakistan is playing an important mediating role in facilitating communication between the two sides.

At the same time, he directed the US military to remain fully prepared for any emergency situation. The US administration said the ceasefire extension is temporary and conditional, depending on Iran’s response.

Diplomatic observers believe that the planned talks in Islamabad could mark a significant step toward easing long-standing tensions between Tehran and Washington, although the U.S. maintains a firm stance alongside diplomatic engagement.
