Field Marshal Asim Munir says action underway against Indians proxies to curb terrorism in Balochistan

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Tuesday said that India-sponsored networks, Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij, were spreading chaos and obstructing development in Balochistan through anti-people propaganda and violent tactics.

He affirmed that all necessary measures were being implemented to track down these elements and rid the province of their influence.

Addressing participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ), the army chief described Balochistan as the pride of Pakistan, home to courageous, resilient, and patriotic citizens who represent the nation’s real wealth.

He noted that the federal and provincial governments were jointly pursuing initiatives focused on improving the province’s socio-economic fabric through inclusive and people-oriented progress, urging collective efforts to unlock its vast economic potential.

Field Marshal Munir also commended the contribution of civil society, particularly its engagement with the youth, emphasising their crucial role in building long-term stability and countering divisive political agendas that hinder development.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire for peace and stability across the region but cautioned that any violation of the country’s sovereignty—direct or indirect—would be met with a strong and unwavering response to protect national interests and ensure citizens’ safety.

The workshop concluded with an open and interactive question-and-answer session between the army chief and the participants.
