Punjab CM directs authorities to remain on high alert amid monsoon rains

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert as monsoon rains continue across the province, stressing the need for a prompt and coordinated response to any weather-related emergencies.

In a statement, the chief minister instructed all commissioners and deputy commissioners to keep a close watch on the evolving weather situation and ensure the timely drainage of rainwater to prevent urban flooding and minimise inconvenience to the public.

Maryam Nawaz said the provincial government is fully aware of the challenges and hardships people face during the monsoon season and reaffirmed its commitment to addressing their concerns without delay.

She emphasized that all relevant departments should remain vigilant, respond swiftly to emergencies, and take every possible measure to protect lives and property while ensuring uninterrupted public services during the rainy spell.
