If the people give PML-N a chance, steps will be taken to change the fate of Azad Kashmir: Maryam Nawaz

Muzaffarabad (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has reaffirmed her emotional and political connection with Kashmir, stating that the region is the “jugular vein of Pakistan” and that the historic relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir will remain everlasting.

Addressing a large public gathering in Muzaffarabad, Maryam Nawaz said she considers Kashmir close to her heart and did not come to the region as a visitor or guest.

She said the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, along with its scenic valleys and landscapes, feel like her own.

She expressed gratitude for the love, prayers, and warm welcome she received from the people, saying their affection would always remain memorable.

The Punjab chief minister said Kashmir holds a special place in the hearts of Pakistanis and emphasized that the progress and stability of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir are interconnected. She said a stronger Pakistan would contribute to a stronger and more prosperous Azad Kashmir.

Maryam Nawaz criticized previous governments over what she described as a lack of attention toward the region’s development.

She said that had the PML-N been in power in Azad Kashmir, the people would not have been facing the difficulties they are experiencing today.

She claimed that several major development projects in Azad Kashmir were initiated during PML-N governments and that the party’s contributions in infrastructure and public welfare projects remain visible across the region.

She assured the gathering that if the people provided PML-N with an opportunity, the party would launch extensive development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents.

Talking about her government’s performance in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz said she had not come to make political promises but to present the achievements of the Punjab government’s two-year tenure.

She highlighted that the PML-N’s approach is centered around governance, public service, and delivering practical solutions to people’s problems.

She said her government in Punjab has focused on improving public facilities and implementing welfare-oriented initiatives, adding that the party believes in fulfilling commitments made to the people rather than relying on slogans.

Taking aim at political rivals, Maryam Nawaz said those who encourage young people to engage in violence or unrest cannot claim to be their true supporters.

She said the future of the youth depends on education, employment opportunities, skills development, and constructive policies rather than confrontation.

She stressed that political differences should be resolved through democratic means and public service, adding that criticism and allegations alone cannot solve the challenges faced by ordinary citizens.

Maryam Nawaz further stated that the development of Azad Kashmir remains linked with Pakistan’s overall progress.

She assured the people that if PML-N receives their support, the party will work to improve infrastructure, create opportunities, and accelerate development across the region.

Concluding her address, she reiterated that Pakistan and Kashmir share an unbreakable bond and expressed confidence that collective efforts would lead to a brighter and more prosperous future for the people of both regions.
