Nawaz Sharif announces major development initiatives for AJK, green buses included

Muzaffarabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif has said that Azad Jammu and Kashmir holds the status of a second home for him, expressing deep affection and a strong bond with the people of the region.

Addressing a public gathering in Muzaffarabad, Nawaz Sharif said he was meeting the people of Azad Kashmir after a long time and reiterated his emotional attachment with both Azad Kashmir and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The PML-N leader pledged that comprehensive measures would be taken for the development and prosperity of Azad Kashmir.

He said major infrastructure projects similar to motorways should be launched in Muzaffarabad, including the construction of a scenic motorway along the River Jhelum.

Nawaz Sharif pointed out that the road from Kohala to Muzaffarabad is several years old and said that as highways are being developed across the country, similar large-scale projects can also be completed in Azad Kashmir.

He said the proposed motorway project connecting Mansehra with Muzaffarabad and Mirpur would be a valuable gift for the region. He added that Muzaffarabad should become one of the most beautiful cities in Pakistan.

The PML-N leader said that during his political tenure, no discrimination was made in development projects among Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the four provinces.

He assured that if his party forms the government, efforts will be made to resolve all issues and challenges faced by the people of Azad Kashmir.

Nawaz Sharif announced that the budget for Azad Kashmir would be increased significantly and development projects would be expanded across the region.

He also said that 10 green buses would arrive in Muzaffarabad within a few days to improve urban transport facilities.

He mentioned that his daughter and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also considers Muzaffarabad a beautiful city.

He reiterated his commitment to increasing Azad Kashmir’s budget tenfold and bringing extensive development to every part of the region.

Expressing regret over the time lost in the past, Nawaz Sharif said efforts would continue to provide progress and prosperity to the people of Azad Kashmir.

He added that even if he does not become prime minister again, he would continue visiting Azad Kashmir every three months.
