Islamabad (Web Desk): The government is likely to refund about Rs 2.13 per unit to consumers in upcoming bills.
A petition filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee (CPPA-G) seeking a decrease in tariff for the month of June would be heard by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on July 25. The reduced tariff will not be applied to K-Electric.
The agency states in the petition that Rs 6.83 per unit was received from consumers in June instead of the actual price Rs 4.7 per unit determined on the basis of the cost of fuel.
It has asked NEPRA to return Rs 2.134 per unit to consumers for each consumed unit. After approval, the consumers will be compensated in bills for July.
