Govt increases petrol price by Rs3.81, diesel by Rs3.59 per litre till August 24

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has raised the prices of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD), with petrol becoming Rs3.81 more expensive per litre and HSD witnessing an increase of Rs3.59 per litre.

The revised rates will take effect from Saturday, August 22, and remain applicable until Monday, August 24.

The Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division issued a notification on Friday following a revision by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the government’s existing petroleum pricing mechanism.

Following the latest adjustment, the price of petrol has climbed from Rs337.78 to Rs341.59 per litre, reflecting an increase of Rs3.81.

Meanwhile, HSD has also recorded a significant rise, with its price moving up from Rs364.70 to Rs368.29 per litre after an increase of Rs3.59 per litre.

The revised rates will stay in force through Monday as the government continues to review petroleum prices in accordance with movements in international oil markets and other related cost considerations.
