Mastermind of Jaffar Express attack killed under mysterious circumstance in Afghanistan

Islamabad (Web Desk): A notorious figure of the militant outfit Fitna al-Hindustan, Gul Rehman, also known as Ustad Mureed, has been mysteriously killed in Afghanistan’s Helmand province.

Security officials revealed that he had been the chief planner of the Jafar Express bombing.

According to reports from Indian media and social platforms, his death occurred on September 17 in Helmand.

As per the security sources Gul Rehman was a key trainer and operational commander of the group’s Majeed Brigade, which has been accused of plotting and executing a series of major terrorist strikes inside Pakistan.

These included assaults on security forces, Chinese citizens, and infrastructure projects linked to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The organization has claimed responsibility for several notorious attacks, such as the Jafar Express tragedy, the assault on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, and the attack on the Pearl Continental Hotel in Gwadar.

Investigators have also connected the group to the Khuzdar school bus bombing, the raid on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, and the explosion at Quetta railway station.

Officials noted that Gul Rehman’s killing is yet another indication of Afghan territory being exploited as a base for terrorist activities targeting Pakistan.

The United States has already designated the Majeed Brigade as a global terrorist entity, while both Pakistan and China have urged the United Nations to place Fitna al-Hindustan’s wing on its international list of banned organizations.
