Brussels (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has urged major European companies to tap into Pakistan’s vast investment potential, pointing to promising opportunities in agriculture, textiles, housing, and the IT sector.
He made the remarks while addressing a dinner he hosted for Members of the European Parliament at Pakistan House, where he underlined that Pakistan places great value on its bilateral and multilateral partnership with the European Union, viewing it as an essential force for peace, stability, reconstruction, and development.
Dar is in Brussels to attend the Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum and to co-chair the seventh Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue with EU representative Kaja Kallas.
The dinner drew the participation of key MEPs, among them the chair of the South Asia Relations Committee, the vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and coordinators from the International Trade, Security and Defence, and Foreign Affairs committees.
Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, EU Ambassador to Pakistan Raimundas Karoblis, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the EU, Belgium, and Luxembourg Rahim Hayat Qureshi were also present at the gathering.
Calling the Pakistan-EU relationship a cornerstone for regional calm and cooperation, Dar voiced Pakistan’s intention to broaden their engagement in trade, politics, commerce, and in all areas where both sides share interests.
He noted that with its position as the fifth-most populous nation and a youth majority exceeding 60 percent of its population, Pakistan is emerging as a vibrant market with strong appeal for international investors.
DPM Dar added that the GSP Plus facility has significantly boosted trade and investment between Pakistan and the EU, further strengthening economic ties.
