London (Agencies): Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Londan and will meet his doctors for medical treatment today (Wednesday).
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo travelled to the United Kingdom (UK) on Tuesday in an air ambulance equipped with an intensive care unit (ICU) and an operation theatre after a stopover in Doha, Qatar.
The PML-N leader was accompanied by his brother Shehbaz Sharif and personal physician Dr Adnan Khan.
On Monday, the interior ministry gave permission to Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad for medical treatment in accordance with the verdict of the Lahore High Court (LHC), while keeping his name on the Exit Control List (ECL).
The ministry issued a memorandum after receiving the court order.
In its notification, the ministry reproduced the undertakings provided by Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz to the court in which the terms of their travel and return have been laid out.
On November 16, the LHC allowed Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad for four weeks for medical treatment, saying the duration could be extended upon doctors' recommendation.
A two-judge bench, comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem, heard the petition challenging the government's condition of furnishing indemnity bonds in order to secure the removal of ailing Nawaz's name from the ECL.
