18 terrorists killed in clash between rival Khawarij groups in Central Kurram

Kurram (Web Desk): A fierce gun battle between two rival factions of Fitna-al-Khawarij in Central Kurram claimed the lives of at least 18 terrorists after tensions reportedly escalated over an extortion-related conflict.

According to Javed Baloch, Bureau Chief Neo News Islamabad, the security sources reported that the confrontation broke out late at night in the Manato area, located within the jurisdiction of Chinarak Police Station, where members of the Kazim group and the Mumtaz Imti faction exchanged heavy fire.

Eighteen militants linked to the Mumtaz Imti group were killed during the clash, while three others were said to be missing. The Kazim faction also suffered losses, with one terrorist killed and another unaccounted for.

It is worth noting that rival groups of Fitna-al-Khawarij have repeatedly turned their weapons on each other in similar incidents in the past. Such clashes highlight that these factions are driven more by personal gains and territorial influence than by any religious or ideological agenda.

As per the residents of the area, the internal fighting among various groups of Khawarij is severely affecting the lives of ordinary citizens in the area.

Analysts says that the public in the region fully backs the efforts of state institutions against terrorist networks.

They said these militants are not only enemies of the state but are also prepared to kill one another in their struggle for authority, wealth, and control.
