Abu Dhabi (Web Desk): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed its participation in the Gaza “Board of Peace” after President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan accepted an invitation extended by US President Donald Trump, the international media reported on Tuesday.
Accordioning to UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, the decision highlights the UAE’s commitment to the full rollout of President Trump’s 20-point peace initiative for Gaza, which he described as essential to ensuring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are upheld.
He also voiced confidence in President Trump’s leadership and dedication to international peace efforts, citing the Abraham Accords as a landmark example.
The minister added that the UAE is prepared to play an active and constructive role in the Board of Peace, working to strengthen cooperation while promoting stability and prosperity for all concerned.
The White House announced the establishment of the board late on Friday, alongside the approval of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, one of four bodies created to oversee the territory during its transitional phase.
The timing of the announcement coincided with the start of the second stage of the ceasefire agreement, which brought an end to Israel’s military offensive in Gaza that has resulted in more than 71,000 deaths and over 171,000 injuries since October 2023.
The broader effort forms part of a 20-point plan put forward by President Trump and later adopted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) under Resolution 2803 in November 2025.
