Lahore (Staff Report): A woman was set ablaze by her husband in Lahore’s Shalimar area, he had rubbed salt into her wounds as if this brutality was not bad enough which caused her screaming out loud with stinging.
Syeda Bano got married to Mansha about 11 years ago and had four children. The woman said in her statement to the police that she had been tortured by her husband for all these years. He was reportedly a drug addict and quarreled with her for money.
The two had a worst argument on Wednesday night and her husband got furious. He started beating her and then set her ablaze. She kept screaming and suffered from burn injuries, but he allegedly proceeded to rub salt on her injuries.
The victim, Syeda Bano, was admitted to Mayo Hospital in very critical condition.
SP Civil Lines Ali Raza stated that a case was filed against the suspect under PPC’s section 324 (Attempt to Murder). He further said that police started investigating into the matter.
