Prince Andrew released same day after arrest on leaking official information

London (Web Desk): The younger brother of Britain’s King Charles III, Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has been arrested by police on suspicion of corruption and leaking sensitive information.

The 66-year-old former prince was taken into custody by Thames Valley Police and questioned throughout the day before being released.

The arrest stems from allegations that, during his tenure as a British trade envoy, Andrew provided sensitive government reports and information related to countries such as Vietnam and Singapore to Jeffrey Epstein. These allegations date back to his official visits in 2010, which had already led to him stepping down from his role in 2011.

Due to ongoing controversies and the seriousness of the allegations, King Charles had stripped him of his royal honors in 2025. Buckingham Palace was not informed prior to the arrest, as police acted to uphold the rule of law.

Authorities have stated that the case will proceed to the Crown Court, where, if convicted, Prince Andrew could face a life sentence.

King Charles emphasized a firm stance, stating, “The law will take its course,” and affirmed that the royal family will fully cooperate with the investigation.
