New York (Web Desk): Pakistan has once again urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to press for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

In a statement at the Council, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, reiterated his country’s unwavering backing for the Palestinian people and their rightful struggle for self-determination.

He appealed for an end to the ongoing military offensive in the enclave, stressing that Pakistan aligns itself with the majority of Council members as well as the broader UN membership, which reflects the will of the international community.

The envoy said that Pakistan chooses to stand with humanity, justice, and the principles of international law.

He said people of Gaza have trapped between relentless bombardment and a suffocating blockade.

The Pakistani envoy said that children are starving, medical facilities have collapsed, and families are left without basic necessities such as food and medicine.
