Rockstar claps back with brief reply after White House GTA 6 cover goes viral

Tallahassee (Web Desk): Rockstar Games has reportedly created a fresh wave of excitement in the gaming community after hints surfaced suggesting that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) pre-orders could open on June 25 next week.

The development has intensified anticipation around what is already being called the most awaited game of the decade.

With confirmation of pre-orders circulating online, fan excitement has reached new heights, while many players are now eagerly waiting for a possible third trailer release.

Some industry observers believe the next trailer could drop after the World Cup, noting Rockstar Games’ reputation for carefully timed marketing campaigns.

Following the release of GTA 6 cover art, social media platforms were flooded with parody and promotional-style recreations from various brands and even public institutions, all attempting to capitalize on the viral trend.

In a similar move, the official White House social media account shared its own GTA VI-inspired graphic, which appeared to be AI-generated and included imagery resembling President Donald Trump.

According to gaming outlet Kotaku, Rockstar Games has made its first public response since the recent promotional wave. When asked about the White House post, a company spokesperson simply said, “No comment.”

The brief response has sparked widespread discussion online, with users interpreting the silence in different ways. This comes amid previous instances where video game assets have been used in political content without direct responses from developers.

Shortly after the White House post, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also shared an edited version of Rockstar’s GTA VI promotional content, captioned, “We flipped the food pyramid before we got GTA 6.”

As Rockstar prepares for what is expected to be an extensive summer marketing campaign, it remains unclear how the company will address the growing intersection of its content with political and institutional narratives.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.
