Govt hikes petrol price by Rs3.34, diesel by Rs5.27 per litre

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has announced another increase in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), raising their rates by Rs3.34 and Rs5.27 per litre, respectively, for Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) determined the revised ex-depot prices of petroleum products in accordance with the pricing mechanism approved by the federal government.

Under the latest adjustment, petrol will now be available at Rs334.54 per litre, compared with its previous price of Rs331.20.

Similarly, the rate of high-speed diesel has climbed to Rs395.69 per litre from Rs390.42.

The latest increase comes as international crude oil prices continue to experience fluctuations.

In response to the volatility in global oil markets, the federal government has moved to a daily review system for petroleum prices, enabling fuel rates to be revised more frequently in accordance with changes in international prices.
