SHC grants protective bail to ex-Sindh minister Jam Khan Shoro

Karachi (Staff Report): The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday granted protective bail to former provincial minister Jam Khan Shoro.

Earlier, the Jam Khan Shoro had approached the SHC for protective bail after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued his arrest warrants for his alleged involvement in corruption.

During the hearing of the plea, Shoro’s lawyer told the court that NAB wants to take his client into custody.

The NAB officials said that Shoro was involved in corruption in the allotment of plots in Karachi Development Authority. They said that the anti-graft body had also issued a call-up notice in June.

The SHC then granted protective bail to the ex-minister and asked him to furnish bail bonds worth Rs1 million.

According to a NAB spokesperson, Shoro was allegedly involved in illegally allotting 19 plots of the Karachi Development Authority that were worth Rs1 billion.

A team has been formed for the arrest of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) former Sindh minister, he added.

The NAB had initiated a probe against Shoro in October 2017 for allegedly occupying government land.
