Tehran says US sent revised comments on Iran's proposal despite public rejection 

Tehran (Web Desk): Tehran has stated that backchannel engagement between Iran and the United States is still taking place through Pakistani mediation, even though Washington has publicly rejected Iran’s 14-point proposal, according to IRNA.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said during his weekly press briefing that the United States had recently passed on “a set of revised points and considerations” via Pakistan after Tehran put forward its proposal.

“After we presented the 14-point plan, the American side raised its considerations. In return, we also presented our considerations,” Baqaei said in response to a question.

He further explained that although Washington had publicly declared the proposal rejected, Iran still received updated feedback through the Pakistani channel last week.

“Last week, despite the American side publicly announcing that this plan was rejected, we received through the Pakistani mediator a set of revised points and considerations reflecting their views,” he added.

According to Baqaei, Tehran has since studied the latest input and has already sent its reply back to Washington through the same intermediary route, keeping the indirect communication process active despite differing public positions.
