PM Shehbaz stresses result-oriented use of public funds in development projects

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that ministries showing stronger performance will be given priority in the allocation of development funds.

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review the current fiscal year’s development budget as well as the proposed Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the upcoming financial year.

The prime minister emphasized that public money will only be spent on projects that deliver assured and measurable results.

He further highlighted that water storage and hydropower schemes remain key priorities for the government’s development agenda.

The premier directed that projects aimed at enhancing the country’s water storage capacity should be given special consideration, while also calling for the maximum promotion of public-private partnerships in development initiatives.

PM Shehbaz appreciated Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb for the successful issuance of Panda Bonds and their positive reception in the financial market.

He also lauded the performance of the Ministries of Railways, Information Technology, and Power.

The meeting was briefed on the review of ongoing PSDP projects and the proposed development plans along with funding requirements for the next fiscal year.

Officials also informed the Prime Minister about the progress of major water and hydropower projects, including Dasu Dam, Diamer-Bhasha Dam, and Mohmand Dam.
