Relief after intense heat: winds and heavy rain across Pakistan

Islamabad (Web Desk): After a day of intense heat, various cities across the country witnessed strong winds and torrential rain as the evening set in, bringing a welcome relief and a pleasant change in the weather.

In the federal capital Islamabad, after gusty winds and storms, rain started to fall, allowing residents who had been suffering from the heat to finally breathe easy. However, the rain resulted in waterlogging on various roads, affecting traffic flow in the city.

In Attock and its surrounding areas, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds also brought an end to the oppressive heat, though electricity supply was disrupted in several areas.

In Peshawar, dark clouds covered the sky, and strong winds started blowing. The rain and winds brought a welcome drop in temperature. Reports also mentioned that three individuals were injured after trees fell in different locations. It is important to note that the Meteorological Department had forecasted extremely hot weather for the day.
