Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has been arrested from Lahore for protesting over the alleged rigging in Feb 8 polls.
As per details, a large number of PTI workers gathered outside the party office at Jail Road to start the protest against the alleged rigging in the elections.
Earlier the day, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta resigned from his post in protest against electoral irregularities.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Chatta admitted “rigging” in Rawalpindi Division and took responsibility for it. He said the divisional administration converted the losers into winners with 50,000 votes margin.
“I admit injustice across the division during Feb 8 polls,” he claimed and surrendered himself before the police over the illegalities.
Several political parties have taken to the streets after the unofficial election results poured in following the general elections.
