Pakistan, Egypt agree to enhance cooperation in counter terrorism, anti-narcotics and cybercrime

Islamabad (Web Desk): A delegation from Egypt’s Interior Ministry held a meeting in Islamabad with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, where both sides explored ways to expand bilateral cooperation.

During the talks, the two countries reviewed potential collaboration in key areas including security, counter-terrorism efforts, anti-narcotics operations, cybercrime prevention, and the development of safe city initiatives.

Both sides mutually agreed to further strengthen institutional ties between their respective interior ministries to improve coordination and effectiveness in these fields.

It was also decided that cooperation between Pakistan’s National Police Academy and Egypt’s Police Academy would be enhanced, particularly through joint training programs for officers.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that Pakistan would take practical and concrete steps to reinforce relations with Egypt, adding that progress in cooperation would be actively pursued.

He further shared that a Pakistani delegation is expected to visit Egypt soon in order to identify new avenues of collaboration in areas of shared interest.

Minister of State Talal Chaudhry highlighted that there is significant scope for expanded cooperation between the two countries, especially in counter-terrorism, anti-narcotics measures, and internal security management.
