3rd ODI: Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 11 runs, clinch series 2-1

Dhaka (Web Desk): Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 11 runs in a thrilling third and decisive One-Day International (ODI) to secure the three-match series 2-1 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 291, Pakistan were bowled out for 279 on the final ball of the match.

After losing the toss, the hosts were sent in to bat first and posted a competitive total of 290 for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan emerged as the standout performer of the match, playing a responsible innings of 107 runs that laid the foundation for the team’s strong total.

Among the other contributors,Towhid Hridoy remained unbeaten on 44, while Litton Das added 41 runs. Saif Hasan chipped in with 36, and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 27.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf was the most effective bowler, claiming three wickets. Shaheen Afridi and Abrar Ahmed picked up one wicket each.

In reply, Pakistan fought hard in pursuit of the 291-run target but ultimately fell short as the entire side was dismissed for 279 on the final delivery of the match.

The game also marked the One-Day International debuts of two Pakistani players, Ghazi Ghori and Saad Masood.

Saad Masood received his debut cap from Haris Rauf, while Ghazi Ghori was presented his cap by Mohammad Rizwan.

Following the match, Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi said the team had been forced to make changes to the playing XI due to injuries to Shumail Hussain and Hussain Talat, which he described as a significant factor behind the defeat.
