President approves conferment of Hilal-e-Pakistan on UN envoy on Islamophobia 

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday gave formal approval for the conferment of the Hilal-e-Pakistan, upon Miguel Ángel Moratinos, the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia.

A statement issued by the President House said the conferment was approved after the president endorsed a summary forwarded by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recommending Moratinos for the prestigious award.

Approving another summary, President Zardari accepted the resignation of Fazal-e-Haq Abbasi from his role as a member of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.

The president also signed off on the appointment of Zafar Hasan as a member of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), acting on the recommendation submitted by the prime minister.
