Germany (Web Desk): Whether good or bad, ChatGPT has significantly altered the way people interact and communicate, not only as a writing tool but also as a conversational partner and search engine. This is the view of experts from Germany.
According to research conducted by the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, people are now speaking more like ChatGPT, making it increasingly difficult to distinguish between conversations with an AI chatbot and a real person.
The study revealed that over the past 18 months, people worldwide who used ChatGPT started adopting similar words and phrases now referred to by researchers as "GPT words," a phenomenon not observed before.
Researchers uploaded millions of emails, articles, academic papers, and news stories to ChatGPT, asking it to refine the texts. They then analyzed which words ChatGPT used most frequently.
These words were also tracked in approximately 360,000 YouTube videos and 771,000 podcasts.
The findings were surprising: usage of GPT-related words in the English language has increased noticeably.
Experts believe that the communication style embedded in AI technology is now being reflected back into human thinking. While imitation is natural among humans, people generally only mimic those they consider knowledgeable or influential.
The study concluded that more people are turning to AI, which is beginning to shape human culture and communication patterns.
