Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan on Monday strongly condemned Israel’s recent move to convert areas of the Occupied West Bank as state property and to further expand its illegal settlements.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office (FO), these actions directly violate international law as well as relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and General Assembly (UNGA), and must be firmly opposed by the global community.
The statement highlighted that Israel’s persistent defiance of international norms, along with its provocative measures, undermines any prospects for achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.
“Pakistan calls upon the international community to take tangible steps to end Israel’s impunity and ensure adherence to international law,” the FO statement added.
Pakistan also reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and for the establishment of an independent, contiguous, and viable Palestinian state within pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
