Bilawal inaugurates 11 health projects including air ambulance service in Balochistan

Quetta (Web Desk): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that being poor should never mean being deprived of healthcare facilities.

Addressing a ceremony in Quetta, he stressed that access to treatment is a basic right for every citizen, adding that free and quality healthcare should be available at the doorstep of ordinary people. He said healthcare should not be limited only to those who can afford it.

During the event, the PPP chairman inaugurated 11 major development projects in Balochistan and announced that he would return after Eid to inaugurate further projects and launch the next phase of development initiatives.

He also stated that a new trauma centre would become the first public hospital in Balochistan, offering services comparable to leading hospitals across Pakistan.

Recalling past initiatives, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the polio eradication campaign in Pakistan was launched during the tenure of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, and highlighted PPP’s response to the Tharparkar drought situation.

Speaking on global economic conditions, he warned that the world is currently facing financial challenges which could escalate into a larger economic crisis, cautioning that poorer and underdeveloped regions would be the most affected.

He added that Balochistan is rich in natural resources and praised ongoing development efforts, saying performance in the province has improved compared to others.

He reaffirmed his commitment to launching major healthcare projects in Balochistan on the lines of Sindh to serve the middle and lower-income population.
