Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday welcomed the announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States (US) and Iran, expressing optimism that the development would eventually lead to a formal agreement and contribute to long-term peace and stability in the region.
Sharing on his official X account, the president stated, “I welcome the announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, which will hopefully pave the way for a final agreement and lay the foundation for durable and comprehensive peace in the region.”

President Zardari highlighted that Pakistan had consistently advocated dialogue and diplomatic engagement throughout the period of tensions, maintaining its support for peaceful solutions.
He further described the breakthrough as a meaningful advancement for multilateral cooperation and said it reflected the importance of resolving disagreements through constructive engagement and mutual respect among nations.
The president offered his best wishes for the success of the initiative, saying, “May these efforts usher in greater peace, stability and prosperity for the region and the world.”
