Indus treaty violation a threat to Pakistan’s survival:Bilawal Bhutto

Berlin (Web Desk): Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party and head of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has warned that India’s violation of the Indus Waters Treaty is a serious matter and crossing this "red line" could lead to conflict.

In an interview with a German news outlet, Bilawal stated that India must reverse its decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, calling the move not only a breach of international law but also a violation of fundamental human rights.

“Even threatening to cut off Pakistan’s water supply violates the UN Charter,” Bilawal emphasized. “This is a matter of survival for us. If we can’t provide clean drinking water to our people, it becomes the state's responsibility to ensure that right is protected — even if it means going to war. Water is our red line.”

He cautioned that if India proceeds with actions to restrict water flow to Pakistan, the country may be left with no choice but to respond forcefully, potentially leading to open conflict.

Bilawal also accused India of supporting terrorism within Pakistan, citing the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav as clear evidence of India’s involvement in destabilizing activities.
