Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to reinforce its coordination with provincial administrations and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) to ensure a more effective and unified response throughout the monsoon season.
The directive came during a meeting with NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, who called on the prime minister to brief him on the country's disaster preparedness measures.
During the meeting, the NDMA chief briefed PM Shehbaz about the authority's preparedness to deal with any emergencies that could arise due to heavy monsoon rains.
He also shared updates on efforts to make the national early warning system fully operational and highlighted the ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change to strengthen forecasting capabilities and improve disaster management across the country.
