IMA 2026: Superior University Rector Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman stresses right direction, opportunities for youth

Lahore (Web Desk): Professor Dr Sumaira Rehman, Rector Superior University has said that Pakistan’s young population possesses tremendous potential, stressing that collective efforts are needed to provide the country’s youth with proper guidance and meaningful opportunities to move forward.

She made these remarks while inaugurating the “Industry Meets Academia (IMA) 2026” event at Superior University.

Dr Sumaira Rehman formally opened the event by cutting the ribbon and appreciated the efforts of the entire team in making the programme possible after extensive preparation and hard work.

The Superior University rector said IMA 2026 represented an important initiative aimed at narrowing the gap between industry and academia.

She noted that stronger collaboration between educational institutions and the business sector could help students better understand professional requirements while also creating greater opportunities for them to enter and succeed in the practical world.

Professor Dr Sumaira Rehman said society must work collectively to help young people progress and reach their full potential.

She urged students to remain committed to their goals, emphasizing that sustained hard work and dedication could pave the way for success.

Professor Dr Sumaira Rehman added that every academic discipline at Superior University incorporates practical learning so that students can gain hands-on experience alongside their formal education.

She also highlighted the university’s “3U1M” programme, which is being implemented successfully to provide students with one year of practical industry experience.

Dr Sumaira Rehman explained that exposure to the professional environment through the programme helps students develop relevant skills and makes the transition from education to employment considerably easier.

She noted that many of society’s challenges could be addressed if individuals fulfilled their respective responsibilities with sincerity, integrity and a strong sense of commitment.

The Superior University rector emphasized that educational institutions, industry and society as a whole would have to work together to empower Pakistan’s youth and create a stronger foundation for the country’s future development.
