Crackdown on digital unrest: 57 detained, key TLP leaders including Saad Rizvi traced: police 

Lahore (Web Desk): The law enforcers launched a nationwide crackdown against individuals accused of spreading rumours and inciting unrest under the guise of protests.

According to sources, 57 people have been arrested from Lahore and various other cities for allegedly running anti-state and provocative campaigns on social media.

Investigators have reportedly traced 109 additional WhatsApp and Facebook accounts linked to a coordinated network involved in disseminating propaganda against state institutions. Officials believe the operation is part of a broader effort to curb digital misinformation and restore stability amid mounting online agitation.

Meanwhile, police have traced the whereabouts of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leaders Hafiz Saad Rizvi and Ans Rizvi, who had mysteriously disappeared a day earlier.

As per the sources, through covert operations and advanced technical tracking, authorities have identified their possible locations, and their arrest is now considered imminent.

The law enforces remain on high alert, prepared for immediate action if required.

Police have urged both individuals to surrender peacefully, emphasizing that law enforcement agencies are fully mobilized to prevent any potential unrest or disturbance.

Moreover, the law enforcement authorities raided the home TLP chief Saad Rizvi, resulting in the discovery of a vast collection of cash, gold, and other expensive assets.

Punjab Police released a detailed report outlining the items found during the operation, which included both local and foreign currencies, gold ornaments, luxury watches, prize bonds, and several other high-value belongings.

Officials stated that investigators confiscated around Rs144.4 million in cash from the residence. Among the seized foreign currencies was Indian money amounting to Rs50,000.

The police further confirmed that foreign notes from the United Kingdom, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were among the recoveries, with their total estimated value exceeding Rs2.5 million.

Gold jewelry worth more than Rs63.4 million was also taken into custody during the raid.
Authorities emphasized that the operation resulted in the recovery of an extensive cache of wealth, reflecting the magnitude of the raid and the significant value of the assets found at Rizvi’s residence.
