Army officer among 5 security personnel martyred, 7 terrorists killed in Balochistan operation: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces killed seven terrorists belonging to the Indian-backed Fitna Al Hindustan, while five brave sons of the soil, including a major, embraced martyrdom during a sanitization operation in the general area of Nosham in Barkhan district.

According to a news release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the morning of 13 May 2026, troops of Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps Balochistan commenced an area sanitization operation at general area Nosham of Barkhan District to eliminate terrorists of Indian backed Fitna Al Hindustan.

“During the operation, a group of terrorists was located and engaged by troops. During fire exchange seven terrorists of Indian backed Fitna Al Hindustan were sent to hell. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists,” it further said.

However, during intense fire exchange, five brave sons of soil including a field officer met the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat. Shuhada include Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti (age 31 years, resident of District Pakpattan), Naik Fida Hussain (age 36 years, resident of District Sukkur), Sepoy Zakir Hussain (age 32 years, resident of District Skardu), Sepoy Suhail Ahmed (age 21 years, resident of District Khanewal) and Sepoy Muhammad Ayaz (age 24 years, resident of District Rahim Yar Khan).

The military’s media wing said that sanitization operation in the surroundings continue to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorists present in the area.

“Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday commended the security forces for successfully carrying out an operation against Fitna Al Hindustan militants in the Nosham area of Barkhan district, Balochistan.

In separate statements, the president and the premier paid tribute to Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti and other personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. They also prayed for the departed souls and expressed hope that the bereaved families would be granted courage and perseverance during this difficult time.

President Zardari stated that the martyrs had rendered invaluable sacrifices to ensure the country’s peace, stability, and defence. He reaffirmed that the hostile intentions of Fitna Al Hindustan and all anti-state forces would be foiled under every circumstance.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the nation would always honour and remember the sacrifices of its martyrs.

He added that the entire nation of Pakistan stands firmly with the country’s courageous security forces in their determined efforts to defend the homeland.
