Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided not to raise petroleum prices this time, despite the recent surge in international oil rates. The move aims to ease the financial burden on the public and honor the government’s commitment to citizens.
In his statement on Friday, the Prime Minister said the government is focused on providing maximum relief to the people amid challenging economic conditions.
He highlighted that regional tensions are putting pressure on the global economy, which could impact Pakistan, and emphasized that the government is responding with timely policies, austerity measures, and fiscal discipline.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed that, as “Khadim-e-Pakistan”, he is committed to reducing the burden on the poor, starting with austerity measures within the government and among the country’s elite. He also noted that provincial governments are fully supporting these initiatives.
Thanks to the efforts of Pakistan’s diplomatic and economic teams, the country has sufficient crude oil supplies to meet domestic needs. Both federal and provincial authorities are ensuring that prices remain in line with government-set rates.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that stability in global oil prices will return soon, easing pressure on domestic fuel costs.
