Karachi (Staff Report): A robbery bid was thwarted in a private hospital at Karachi’s Stadium Road on Monday.
According to SSP East Faisal Abdullah Chachar, hospital supervisor was transporting Rs6.2 million from one block another at the Liaquat National Hospital along with a security guard, when the robbers intercepted them. The security guard resisted and tried to open fire thrice, but his gun did not work.
The security guard suffered a bullet injury on the leg when the robbers opened fire. The SSP East further added that the armed men even tried to snatch security guard's weapon.
The armed men had entered the hospital premises on a motorcycle and had obtained a parking slip, SSP East confirmed.
Robbers managed to flee the crime scene while police search operation is underway.
