CM Maryam reviews Punjab's digital transformation initiatives

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a video-link meeting in Lahore to assess progress on the province’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives and review the expansion of technology-based public services.

The meeting was briefed on the progress made in integrating government departments and institutions through digital systems. Officials informed the participants that more than 6,000 government systems have so far been connected with the central system of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

The meeting was further informed that around 600 organisations have been digitally integrated through the e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS), enabling government offices to manage official communication and administrative processes through digital platforms.

Officials also presented an update on the ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ initiative, which is aimed at making public services more accessible to citizens through doorstep delivery.

According to the briefing, more than four million people have submitted applications for government services through the programme, while over 3.1 million citizens have already received various services at their homes.

The figures highlight the provincial government’s efforts to reduce the need for citizens to visit government offices and improve access to public services through digital and technology-driven mechanisms.

During the meeting, progress on the province’s broader digitalisation agenda was also reviewed, with the government continuing to focus on connecting institutions, improving administrative efficiency and making public services more convenient for citizens.
